Laurie Bebick

Laurie Bebick’s work is a melding of the constraints of natural science illustration with the freedom of artistic expression. Laurie depicts mundane objects so the viewer can see the beauty that is inherent in the natural world.  “I strive to create art that rekindles the magic we all saw in nature when we were children, and lost as we took on the mantle of adulthood.”

Laurie works primarily with colored pencils as the slow process, and the rhythm of laying down layer after layer of color is symbolic of the peace she finds in nature while the control over the medium appeals to her training as a natural science illustrator.
