Wendy Chadbourne, MFA, CMI
GNSI-NE President (2016 to present)
Wendy Chadbourne is the founder of Inky Mouse Studios, a freelance veterinary and medical illustration studio which is operated in Lakeville, MA. Her clientele range from veterinarians to researchers to large biotech companies and can be as close as Cambridge, MA or as far away as Marangaroo, Australia – if there is a need for creative and educational visuals, she is eager to take on the challenge. Wendy is a Board Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI) and Professional Member of the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) as well as a member of the National Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.
Wendy received her BS in Biology with a double major in Studio Arts from Bridgewater State College. Continuing her love of science and the arts, she went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts in Medical Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY before returning to Massachusetts.
Most of her professional freelance work is digitally generated, but the lure of paper and handheld tools is never far away. She is a traditionally trained artist, who enjoys working in traditional media such as carbondust, pen and ink, scratchboard and on occasion watercolour. Between freelance jobs, Wendy studies photography and keeps up with a modest zoo consisting of two horses and two cats. She also has recently taken up the hobby of collecting, cleaning and articulating animal skeletons for use in anatomical studies and illustrations.
